Early Start Spanish 1: "Tú y yo"
Early Start Spanish starts with the theme of "me and you" - it is carefully constructed to help children learn - each chapter introduces a new topic with just a small number of new words, just enough to cover what children might wish to talk about.
Early Start avoids giving children long lists of vocabulary to learn - an approach guaranteed to induce boredom that often puts children off learning languages for life! New words are introduced without translation - by linking each word with both video clips and still pictures in context. The new Spanish words are used straight away in simple sentences, including question-and-answer. Fun games and role-plays help children get used to learning the new words - first responding when they hear them, and then saying the words themselves. Always the emphasis is on correct authentic pronunciation. Children are encouraged to listen to how the native speakers say that word, and by comparing its sounds with occurrences in other Spanish words they know already. |
